MARRIAGE INDEX

Relationship to Philip Holland

Richard & Hannah Holland were my 3 x Great Grandparents

William and Ann Holland were my Great-great Grandparents. My Great-grandfather John Holland was their eldest son (seen in the 1851 census aged two).

John married Jane Ingram on July 24th, 1870. His father William Holland gave his occupation as Blacksmith on the Marriage Certificate.

I have put the information from the three census forms 1851-1861-1871.
It appears that there must have been a high mortality rate as none of the children follow on through the census.
John Holland may have been else where working by 1861 and by 1871 was living with his wife Jane Ingram.
Of course some of the children may also have left early to start jobs elsewhere too.
